AVxCompliance
The paperwork side of autonomous fleets.
Every autonomous vehicle on the road will need more than a charge and a clean. Owners will need permits, licenses, registrations, insurance and renewals, and the rules change from city to city and state to state. We're building AVxCompliance to keep fleets legal and on the road, from one Cybercab to thousands.
The problem
Tesla is already collecting interest from future Cybercab fleet buyers. When independent owners join the network, each one inherits a stack of obligations that Tesla handles for itself today: operating authority, vehicle registration, commercial insurance, local permits, inspections and renewals on different calendars. Texas comes first. Other states will follow, each with its own rules.
What we're building
AVxCompliance is being developed to track and handle: AV operating permits and local authorizations; licensing and registrations; renewal calendars and deadlines; insurance tracking and certificates; fleet transfers and sales paperwork; regulatory changes as states and cities write new rules.
Why us
Andy Shelley has spent years in licensing, regulatory compliance and court-appointed receiverships in heavily regulated industries, getting complicated operations licensed, running and kept that way. Autonomous vehicles are a new industry, but many of the underlying problems are familiar ones.
Where we are
We're early, and we're building this in public. If you're planning to own autonomous vehicles, or you work in AV policy, insurance or fleet operations, we'd like to compare notes.
AVxCompliance is part of AVxLink. AVxLink is independent and not affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer.
